All About lance Dela Cruz

My Son, Lance Dela CRuz, was just 7 years old, he was a very strong kid. He knows how to take care of himself and he loves his sister very much! When he was just one year old, I left him under the care of his father and decided to go to Taiwan to provide him a much better future simply because my husband was just a farmer and I'm dreming of a much better life ahead of us. But, everything doesn't end well, my salary was just too small and because of global crisis the company just shot down and I went back home with just a few savings.

Our life continue with a little money on our wallet and a strong will to succeed. We started investing in a little carenderia and the business started to become ok. But again, no business runs steady, during summer, when school was closed, we have no income, so we decided again to change course, my husband decide to invest on some dealership.

Everything seems ok, Lance was in Grade 1, School of Mount Saint Mary. He was a very intelligent kid. He knows how to please other and he was a very friendly child. In the middle of September, out calvary started. He was complaining about about his left hand which is swollen, I tauht it was just because of writing and even think of he was just making excuse so that he can't go to school. But I started to become more and more afraid of his situation, when at night he just cried because of the swelling, then additional swelling appear on the left knee and upper arms. I went to the hospital to do some checkup. They ask for some blood testing and waited for the results. Then they told me that it was just a joint pain, so they gave me medicine to lesen the pain of the swelling nodes.

His birthday arrived, October 7, he was very happy back then, but the pain still on his arm and legs. Then, we decided to went in Manila for further testing. Again, no sign of illness was seen. We went home and continue but my worried grew bigger and bigger because at night I can't sleep because of his little sobbing. The pain was really great.

We decided to quit schooling and gave him some rest but before we do that we again went to a certain doctor, because we noticed his abdomen got bigger too. Then on October 30, the doctor told us to went to PGH because oncologist was there. So, immediately we went there and what we learned really surprise us.

Without even making initial laboratory testing, the doctors told us that it was a possible sign of Leukemia. I can't believe it, I started crying and my husband really doesn't know why and we just started crying.

And this is the beginning of Lance journey to a situation No Mother can even handle!

I don't want to see him when he was about to get his first bone marrow biopsy! I just covered my ears upon hearing his shout. Even when he was sleeping and with anestesia, when everything started, he felt it and shouted!! He told " Patayin Nyo na Ako" (God get my life and kill me!)!!! He said that simply because of the pain!

Our journey started to a world of sadness!!! But our stregth comes from him. He is a very strong kid who wants to live! He always tell to the doctor, do you think you can kill me, I will eat a lot of food! Some of the children there died because they don't eat. That is why he loves to eat so much, thinking that he will get the strength from the food he eats! But, he felt sad again because He can't start with his chemo when some of his teeth had problems, that is why the Doctor told us that we have to remove 20 of his teeth! He cried, and cried and cried! He said how can I eat if I have no teeth! He started to get weary. I explained everything and he understand that and stp crying. My heart felt as if there are little pin sticking to them. I just want to get all the sickness and pain that my kid was now experiencing. If I can only exchange my life to him, I will absolutely done it!

The operation was successfully done, he now have 4 teeth left. And then after a week he got his first chemo. That's it for today, I will absolutely share eveything to you here!

Help Save Lance Dela Cruz

Have you ever heard of Acute Lymphoblastic leuekemia? This is a very difficult post for me to write but many avenues seem to have been closed to me so I hope you can take the time to read my story.I am the mother of a seven year-old boy named Lance Dela Cruz, he was so handsome, he looks like an angel and has a smile that lights up the world. His laugh never fails to be contagious to all within earshot. He is loved by many people especially to his Father. My husband was just a tricycle diver and I have no ability to contribute simply because I still have a 1 year old baby girl to attend to.

He was still confined at CI of Philippine General Hospital, Taft Avenuew Manila and was diagnosed to have acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His sickness started early September, he was suffering from then look like a simple arthritis, we brought him to the nearest pediatrician and ask for help, the doctor made the necessary medical examination and to our surprise nothing found. The doctor done every possible medical examination, including CBC, Xray and even 2D-echo. The Doctor told us that it was JAS or juvenile arthritis, that is why he was treated for that kind of illness but to our surprised his condition never get better. We all decided to take him to another doctor for second opinion, we brough him in Manila, Philippine Heart Center to be exact and UDMC. Due to financial problem we never done some more medical examination they asked and continue with the prescription of the first Doctor that treated him. But on November 30, we decided to take him again to another pedia, because we noticed his stomach became bigger and bigger.

Then, the doctor made another medical examination and they found out that his spleen and liver are swelling that is why the Doctor adviced us to immediately went to PGH where Oncologist are available. On that same afternoon, we ask help and brought Lance to the hospital, another medical examinations had been made and they found out that his hemoglabin and platelet count is dropping. He was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia that is why a complete CBC count has made and they told us that they found some cancer cells present from his Blood. They advice Lance to have Bone Marrow Aspiration/Biopsy. And in his bone marrow results, Lance was diagnosed to be suffering from Acute B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Therein lies the dilemma – how to get money to start with his chemotherapy and this kind of treatment means a lot of money. We are working so hard to have the money he needed but how? We worked already but what we have today was not even enough for his own daily medicine because he has some sort of infection. Lance has so many ambition, he was a great singer and a great son. I don't want to lose him! I would do anything just to make him alive. He has a great future ahead of him. It is a common knowledge that there are institution who are willing to help kids like Lance but we all know that approaching them is like having a dream. With our present condition in life even reaching them is so hard for us. Even the daily transportation to be able to reach a particular institution is a big problem to us.

Now, I am here in front of you, begging you to please open your heart to my little angel. We badly need any kind of help, we badly need blood donors, medicine or any form of assisstance. I'm begging you to please do help us!!! I do really want him to survive! Please consider this request with my gratitude.
